ISCVE Early Careers Committee Update
ISCVE Early Careers Committee Update
The ISCVE is delighted to announce the appointment of Jason Williams MInstSCVE as the new Chair of the Early Careers Committee. With Jason’s leadership, we are working to strengthen our initiatives to support existing Student members and attract new members from a wider array of backgrounds by emphasising the technical expertise and vast knowledge available within ISCVE.
Our strategy includes forming strong connections with Further and Higher Education institutions, including colleges, universities and training providers that offer relevant modules, apprenticeships and degree courses. Additionally, we are committed to engaging in grassroots activities through the STEM scheme to spark early interest in our field among younger students.
Future Plans
The committee is focused on several key areas to ensure continuous growth and engagement:
- Website Developments: Designing an apprenticeship webpage with resources that serve both potential apprentices and companies, together with success stories from current apprentices and their employers.
- Event Participation: Strengthening ISCVE’s presence at events such as Production Futures, STEM fairs, and UKAS events to engage with potential new members and industry stakeholders.
- STEM Ambassador Meetings: Organising special sessions to gather and support our STEM ambassadors, enhancing our outreach activities. If you are a STEM ambassador, please let us know.
- STEM Resource Hub: Established and populated with resources for members. This hub will be designed to support STEM volunteers with practical activities and worksheets aligned to the national curriculum, encouraging members to contribute and refine resources.
Jason is joined by an enthusiastic team of committee members; Xavier Babington, Matt Boddy, Mark Faulks, Alex Krasnic and Hanieh Motamedian.
