ISCVE Industry association partner, Production Futures, has launched the 2024 Breakthrough Talent Awards: 27th November at Production Park. These awards celebrate and recognise newcomers in the entertainment production industry, including entrepreneurs, apprentices, employees, students, graduates and freelancers who are broadening their skill sets and making significant impacts. By acknowledging their efforts, we aim to encourage more newcomers to break down barriers and lead the way for others.

Hannah Eakins of Production Futures shares her enthusiasm: “We’re thrilled to open nominations for the 2024 Breakthrough Talent Awards. The Awards will once again focus on ‘access and opportunity,’ with winners receiving mentoring sessions with our judges and sponsors, who are leading industry professionals. We encourage companies, colleges, colleagues and young people active within the production sector to submit nominations.”

With 43 previous winners already on the Breakthrough Talent Newcomers List, the introduction of 21 new categories last year created even more opportunities to spotlight and celebrate emerging talent.

Criteria for Nomination:

• You must have been working in the industry for 0-5 years.

What Do I Need to Submit?

• A project or piece of work you are proud of.
• A business you started.
• A project you designed.
• An assignment you already submitted.
• An achievement you are proud of.
• A technical innovative idea you might have.

This is a chance to celebrate your greatest achievements. The focus is on your accomplishments, not your qualifications.

• Employee of the Year: For individuals who have made a standout contribution to their company’s performance.
• Entrepreneur of the Year: For those who have started a business within the production industry.
• Apprentice of the Year: For apprentices who have made significant contributions to projects or events.
• Live Event Production Newcomer of the Year: For individuals working in event production with notable contributions.
• Festival Production Newcomer of the Year: For those who have contributed significantly to a festival in the last 12 months.
• Touring Production Newcomer of the Year: For individuals involved in music or theatrical touring productions.
• Venue Production Newcomer of the Year: For those working in theatres or live music venues with multiple event contributions.
• Music Production Newcomer of the Year: For individuals in music production/studio environments with notable contributions.
• Broadcast Production Newcomer of the Year: For those working in broadcast environments.
• Audio Newcomer of the Year: For individuals working with audio systems at events.
• Lighting Newcomer of the Year: For those working with lighting systems at events.
• Video Newcomer of the Year: For individuals working with video systems at events.
• Rigging Newcomer of the Year: For those working with rigging at events.
