Anyone with an interest in technology, sound, video or live events can apply for an AV apprenticeship! You’ll usually need to be 16 or older, and some employers may look for basic qualifications in English and maths. But most importantly, they’re looking for people who are enthusiastic, ready to learn, and enjoy hands-on, practical work.

No prior experience is necessary! Employers are looking for passion, enthusiasm and a proactive attitude — not formal experience. If you have an interest in technology, sound or video, that’s a great start. Some basic technical knowledge can be helpful, but it’s not required. The apprenticeship is designed to teach you everything you need, step by step, while you gain real-world experience on the job.
