Get Ahead 2024: A Look Back at ISCVE’s Annual Event
ISCVE’s annual Get Ahead 2024 event was a resounding success, hosted at the prestigious Rose Shure Experience Centre in London and broadcast live online to a record number of pre-registered attendees.
This year’s event featured three presentations from industry experts, offering invaluable insights into emerging technologies and updates to British standards. Attendees, both members and non-members, enjoyed a day of learning, networking, and a delicious lunch, which provided plenty of time to connect and share ideas.
The event opened with Understanding the Implications and Changes in BS 5839 Part 8, presented by Anthony C. Smith, MAES, FInstSCVE, an in-depth overview of the latest updates to the British Standard governing voice alarm systems within fire detection and alarm frameworks.
James Bottrill, UK Business Development Manager at Ampetronic, followed with a talk on Auracast™ and the Future of Assistive Listening, exploring new developments in assistive listening technologies.
ISCVE President Neil Voce wrapped up the presentations by unveiling plans for the Registered Installer Scheme—a groundbreaking initiative designed to increase the benefits of ISCVE membership. This new scheme will boost visibility for installer companies and offer fresh marketing opportunities, including a public register on the ISCVE website.
Feedback from attendees was enthusiastic with participants praising the informative seminars and the chance to network in a remarkable venue.
ISCVE would like to thank our expert presenters, to Shure for generously hosting us, and to all who participated both in person and online.
