NEXO GEO M10 Delivers Power and Versatility at Barcelona’s Centre de Cultura Contemporània
The Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB), situated in the heart of the city’s vibrant Raval district, is a hub for exhibitions, debates, concerts, film screenings, lectures and more, all exploring themes around the city and urban culture.
At the centre of its event space offering is the Hall, a 730m² venue accommodating up to 400 guests. When CCCB launched a public tender for a new sound system for this flexible venue, the brief was clear: a powerful and adaptable system capable of handling a wide range of events without relying on additional hired equipment.
The winning bid came from Barcelona based event technology specialists Imesde, who specified a system built around ISCVE Supporting Member NEXO’s GEO M10 line array with L20 subs, supported by predictive modelling using NEXO’s NS-1 configuration software.
“Although the original tender named a different manufacturer, we demonstrated that a NEXO GEO M10 solution would meet all the performance criteria, and at a more competitive cost,” explains Jordi Vaquero Pujagut of Soundmeans, NEXO’s Spanish distributor. “The savings even covered the installation.”
The final installation includes:
- 5 clusters of GEO M10 modules (3 above the stage, 2 delays at mid-room)
- 6 L20 subs delivering deep low-end response down to 28Hz
- 4 ID24s for front fills across the stage
- NEXO NXAMPMk2 Powered TD Controllers for amplification and system processing
Feedback from CCCB has been overwhelmingly positive. The system handles every event with clarity and impact, from lectures to high-energy performances, delivering premium audio without compromise.
“The GEO M10 system was the perfect fit, it’s compact, powerful and delivers even coverage, ideal for everything from film festivals to live concerts. With Soundmeans’ support on simulations and configuration, it’s now tuned precisely to the space.” Marc Parareda, Audio Engineer, Imesde
