NEXO ID Series Brings Upgraded Sound to a New Parisian Restaurant
Located in Paris’s 8th arrondissement, between the Champs-Élysées and the River Seine, the Grand Palais is a historic exhibition hall and museum complex designed in the Beaux-Arts style and originally built for the Universal Exposition of 1900.
The recently renovated building now includes one of the most beautiful terraces in Paris, home to Le Grand Café—the latest restaurant opening from the highly acclaimed Loulou Groupe.
With a world-renowned portfolio of successful restaurants across France, the Loulou Groupe’s mission is to create outstanding spaces that enhance the beauty of exceptional locations and historic buildings through timeless décor.
Naturally, the sound systems within its hospitality venues must be visually discreet and fully in harmony with the interior design—or ideally, not visible at all.
“The NEXO ID14 is a tiny, high-performance loudspeaker which was perfect for the installation at Le Grand Café,” comments sound system designer and installer Gérard Giraudon of AV technology specialists Colorsonic.
“We were able to pair each ID14 with a total of 10 IDS110 subwoofers built into the booths, so they cannot be seen at all.”
A perfect destination for lunch, Le Grand Café is also a popular evening venue, offering live jazz performances and cocktails from legendary mixologist Colin Field.
“For the stage, we used NEXO ID84s mounted on IDS312 subwoofers, providing an elegant front-of-house system with plenty of power for DJ sets at private events. These are supplemented by additional ID24s, which are also compact and discreet.”
Reflecting on the project, Gérard concludes:
“We are proud to have worked with the Loulou Groupe in such an historic French building. Once again, the NEXO ID Series delivers the perfect combination of performance and aesthetics.”
