RCF loudspeaker systems provided refined, high-performance audio for the Lakeshore Hospital Ball, one of Montreal’s most prestigious fundraising events, held in the historic Windsor Station.

Bringing together business leaders, sponsors and healthcare professionals in support of Lakeshore General Hospital, the event presented notable acoustic challenges. The venue’s expansive volume, high ceilings and reflective surfaces demanded a system capable of delivering clarity, consistency and musical impact without compromising the elegance of the space.

To meet these requirements, event production specialists Total Events designed and deployed a complete RCF audio solution. The system was centred around compact HDL 26-A line array modules, selected for their controlled dispersion, uniform tonal balance and discreet form factor. Deployed as both main and side arrays, the system provided consistent coverage and ample headroom for the evening’s diverse programme, ranging from live band performances to formal speeches. Low-frequency reinforcement was delivered by RCF SUB 9006-AS subwoofers.

To extend speech intelligibility and presence across all listening areas, NXL 14-A compact loudspeakers were used as front fills, outer fills and delay speakers. An adjacent cocktail area was served by an independent system combining NXL 14-A loudspeakers with SUB 18-AX subwoofers, utilising RCF’s ACE presets to ensure smooth transitions as guests moved between spaces, preserving the same tonal signature and musical atmosphere.

Through careful system design, tuning and deployment, Total Events achieved uniform, intelligible coverage throughout Windsor Station while effectively managing reverberation and meeting the unobtrusive visual aesthetic expected of a high-profile gala event.
