On Wednesday 17 September 2025, ISCVE welcomed members and industry professionals to Sennheiser’s UK facilities for our latest Loudspeakers & Room Acoustics training course, expertly led by Tony Stacey.

The course  explored how loudspeakers and room acoustics interact, with delegates gaining practical insights into:

• Understanding the acoustic signal path from loudspeaker to listener
• The importance of the direct-to-reverberant ratio for speech intelligibility
• Key loudspeaker specifications such as sensitivity, SPL, fidelity and dispersion
• How to interpret polar and isobar plots to make better design choices
• Strategies for optimising loudspeaker placement to maximise clarity in real spaces

Feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive, with many noting how the training had already boosted their confidence in applying these principles to voice alarm and sound system projects.
