ISCVEx 2019 proves to be a great success
Wednesday, March 6th 2019, the Institute of Sound and Communications Engineers concludes another successful ISCVEx event with increased attendances at its annual exhibition and seminar day. ISCVEx is a one-day exhibition and seminar programme held annually by the Institute of Sound and Communications Engineers at Coombe Abbey Hotel and Country Park.
Open to members and non-members, the ISCVEx exhibition and seminar programme is precluded by the Institute’s annual general meeting, which saw the appointment of Helen Goddard announced in her role as President of the Institute. ISCVE also organised a health and safety assessment session for ECS Card applicants and a networking dinner event.
The ISCVEx 2019 seminar programme started with a lecture from Martin Bonsoir MInstSCE, Internal Applications Manager for BiAmp Systems presenting the Hopkins-Baldwin Lecture, entitled ‘Remote Management in AV’, exploring AV equipment and building infrastructure.
Peter Mapp, HonFInstSCE, presented the Warren-Barnett Memorial Lecture on ‘Psychacoustics for Sound Engineers’ outlining the basis of every day acoustics and audio phenomena when designing and setting up sound systems.
The seminars were concluded by a lecture from David Needham from Axis Communications under the topic of ‘Embracing the move to network based audio’, presenting the advantages of IP audio and how to migrate from existing analogue audio installations.
ISCVEx 2019 once again proved to be two days stacked with meetings, presentations, exhibits and networking opportunities, highlighted by the feedback and comments from attendees and exhibtors.
Christopher Nicolaides, Principal at AMS Acoustics said ‘I had a wonderful time at ISCVEx, it was probably the most enjoyable industry event I’ve attended in my career so far, as it strikes an excellent balance between exhibitors and seminars and the day is structured masterfully to allow attendees the best of both. Looking ahead, I am looking forward to getting involved more with some of the new member initiatives the Institute is implementing’.
Robert Siatkowski from Ambient Systems, a first time exhibitor at ISCVEx 2019 comments, ‘ I was very impressed with the event over both days. The networking dinner was a good opportunity to meet new contacts and at the exhibition I was impressed at being able to meet with a number of visiting consultants. We shall definitely be booking again for next year’.
Adam Florio, UK Sales Director of Element One adds,
‘Although I’m an enthusiastic member of ISCVE and have been for several years, it was the first time I’d been able to attend ISCVEx.The networking dinner was highly rewarding; I had the chance to spend and enjoy time with some like-minded people, as well as make great new business contacts. The meal and entertainment was great and at the exhibition, there was a good mix of exhibitors and, due to the relaxed atmosphere (far more than most trade shows), I was afforded plenty of time to speak to them. I also sat in on some very informative presentations and in particular got a lot of valuable information from listening to Peter Mapp speak. All in all, I will definitely be attending next year and encouraging friends and colleagues to do the same’.
‘ISCVEx has been running successfully for 17 years and this is our 4th year at Coombe Abbey Hotel. I believe this has been our best yet. Talking to many of the exhibitors and visitors, they were very positive and particularly liked the informal networking style of this exhibition’, comments Phil Price, Director and Chairman of ISCVEx for the ISCVE.
‘We had thirty-six exhibitors at ISCVEx this year and in-between seminars, exhibitors were constantly engaged in discussions with attendees’, comments Ros Wigmore, event organiser for ISCVE.
‘We strive to keep ISCVEx as a very personal event, creating a very intimate and informal environment for business conversations and networking to take place. Feedback has been positive and we’re pleased to confirm the dates for ISCVEx 2020, which will take place on 17th-18th March 2020’, summarises Wigmore.
