Visit the Broadcast Engineering Museum this Summer!
We are pleased to share that the Broadcast Engineering Museum at Hemswell Cliff, Lincolnshire is opening its doors on select days throughout summer and autumn 2025.
We would also like to give special thanks to one of our members, Barry Raynaud HonMInstSCVE, who has recently made a generous donation of items to the museum’s collection. His contribution is helping to preserve and showcase the heritage of broadcasting and public address systems for future generations.
For those who have not yet visited, the Broadcast Engineering Museum is a remarkable independent museum dedicated to celebrating the history of broadcasting and communications technology in the UK. Founded and run by a team of volunteers, many of whom are former engineers and industry professionals, the museum is building an interesting collection that spans television, radio, audio and public address equipment, from the earliest days right through to modern times.
And here is an important reminder: the museum is home to the only dedicated public address museum display of its kind in the United Kingdom. Held within the Broadcast Engineering Museum’s wider collection, this unique display charts the evolution of public address systems – from vintage valve amplifiers to more modern technologies – making it a must-see for anyone in our industry.
With free parking, modest entry fees and plenty to see, the Broadcast Engineering Museum is a treasure trove for anyone interested in the history of sound, broadcasting and communication technologies.
