ISCVEx 2026 Wraps After Two Vibrant Days of AGM, Networking, Seminars and Exhibition
The ever-popular event, ISCVEx 2026, was once again hosted at the historic Coombe Abbey Hotel in Coventry. With industry-informative presentations from four guest speakers and with over 30 exhibitors, it continues in its theme as an exceptional gathering for professionals across the sound, communications and visual engineering industries.
Organised annually by the Institute of Sound, Communications and Visual Engineers (ISCVE), the event welcomed both members and non-members to take part in a dynamic programme designed to support professional development, share industry insight and encourage meaningful discussions.
The event commenced on Tuesday 17 March 2026 with ISCVE Members’ Day and the Annual General Meeting, providing an important opportunity for the Institute to reflect on the past year’s achievements and outline future plans.
This was followed by an Industry Forum session focusing on Martyn’s Law, offering attendees a clear and practical overview of the proposed legislation and its implications for venues, events and public spaces.
As Paul Davidson, Director of Security Consulting at Team 9 Ltd, explained:
“Martyn’s Law isn’t about adding unnecessary burden – it’s about embedding a clear, proportionate approach to managing risk and protecting the public.”
The day concluded with a lively networking dinner, followed by the ISCVE Awards, celebrating the achievements and contributions of ISCVE members and industry partners. Awards presented included Fellowship and Companionship honours, and recognition of its members, highlighting the expertise, dedication and collaboration within the industry. The evening provided a relaxed and celebratory atmosphere, with plenty of opportunity for attendees to connect.

Wednesday’s programme featured a series of engaging seminars exploring innovation, best practice and real-world insight. Highlights included the Hopkins-Baldwin Seminar, where Dr Brian Shannan (University of Edinburgh) presented a forward-thinking approach to assistive listening using digital sound, speech-to-text and AI technologies; Specifications – Truth or Lie? with Mark Bailey MInstSCVE (MBAV Ltd), examining how to navigate and verify product claims; and Venue Acoustics and Audio Design – UNVRS Nightclub, Ibiza, where Adam Page (Vanguardia, Buro Happold) shared insights into audio system design, acoustic modelling and noise control in a world-class venue.

The exhibition, a central part of ISCVEx, showcased the latest innovations in sound, communications and visual engineering. Attendees had the opportunity to explore new technologies, engage directly with manufacturers and suppliers, and gain practical insights into the products shaping the future of the sector.
Feedback from attendees and exhibitors reflected the continued success and unique atmosphere of the event.
Dan Woods, JIB/ECS attending as a visitor, commented:
“The venue was fantastic and ideal for the weather on the day. I really enjoyed the seminars – they had a great setting and were easy to follow. Everything was well signposted and easy to navigate, and the exhibitor stands were excellent, taking the time to explain their equipment and applications. I’ll definitely be back next year.”
First time exhibitor, Peter Mytton-Bayley, LED Studio added:
“The whole event was very well organised – the evening dinner was superb and the event space worked really well. The room was well set up to make it easy to step away from the stand and have proper conversations.
Out of 10, I’d give it 11. The venue is amazing, the location works brilliantly for attendees across the UK, and the overall experience – people, seminars and exhibition – was one of the best I’ve attended in over 40 years in the industry.”
ISCVEx continues to demonstrate ISCVE’s commitment to supporting its members through education, networking and innovation. By bringing together professionals from across the UK, the event reinforces the value of collaboration within a forward-thinking and supportive community.
Ros Wigmore, Business Manager for ISCVE, commented:
“It was inspiring to see such a strong mix of attendees, including many new faces alongside familiar ones. The feedback has been incredibly positive, and we’re already looking ahead to building on this success in future events.”
Jim Smith FInstSCVE, President of ISCVE, added:
“We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to ISCVEx 2026. The enthusiasm and engagement from our community highlights the strength of our industry, and we look forward to welcoming you again next year.”
