The Institute of Acoustics will hold its 42nd Reproduced Sound conference at the Old Swan Hotel in Harrogate from 16–18 November 2026.

This year’s conference, themed “Measured. Modelled. Heard.”, will bring together consultants, manufacturers, contractors, system designers, end users, academics and students to explore the latest developments in audio, acoustics and sound reproduction.

Reproduced Sound is one of the industry’s longest-running conferences dedicated to audio and electroacoustics. It is well known for combining high-quality technical presentations with valuable networking and discussion in an informal and collaborative environment.

This year’s Peter Barnett Memorial Award recipient is Dr Bruce Wiggins from the University of Derby. His presentation, “From Stereo to Surround and Back Again,” will explore the evolution of spatial audio, using practical examples and visual animations to explain the principles behind modern Ambisonic formats.

The programme is expected to cover a broad range of topics, including speech intelligibility, audio system design, loudspeakers and microphones, signal processing, artificial intelligence, immersive audio, room acoustics, measurement and modelling, cinema and broadcast sound, psychoacoustics and installation case studies.

ISCVE members working in sound, communications and audio system design may find the conference particularly relevant.
