4 June 1932 – 2 February 2020

In February, ISCVE members said a fond farewell to Harold Smart, a long-serving and much respected member of the ISCVE.

Harold was an original member of the Association of Public Address Engineers (APAE,– now ISCVE).  He served on many committees during his lifetime and always strived to improve standards.

As well as Harold’s technical expertise from running his own AV business and lecturing at the local college, he was very involved with his local Chamber of Commerce and Rotary Club, but more than anything, his passion was taking to seas and sailing.

In 1981 Harold was made a Fellow of the ISCVE and in April last year, an Honorary Fellow for his services to the Institute and industry.

Our sincere condolences go to his wife Pauline, his children Emma and Steven and grandchildren Tom and Lucy.
