ABTT Theatre Show 2025 Roundup – Two Days of Theatre Tech, Talks and Connections
It was a pleasure to see many familiar faces at this year’s ABTT Theatre Show, held on the 4th and 5th of June 2025 at the iconic Alexandra Palace. Now in its 45th year, this event once again delivered two days of inspiration and industry connections.
Ros and Sarah were able to catch up with members, meet new contacts and learn about some exciting projects on the horizon.
With over 150 brands in attendance, the exhibition floor busy with energy and ideas. From sound and lighting to rigging, staging and venue safety, the range of specialist suppliers highlighted the depth and breadth of technical theatre support in the UK today.
Spotlight on Innovation: ABTT Sound Product of the Year
A special congratulations goes to ISCVE Premium Supporting Member, d&b audiotechnik, who took home the ABTT Sound Product of the Year Award for their CCL System.
The judges praised the CCL’s sophisticated design, noting that it delivered impressive performance in an entirely passive enclosure with a modest footprint. Its extreme directivity not only protects hearing health on stage, but also limits unwanted sound bleed into neighbouring spaces or buildings, ideal for theatrical venues and acoustically sensitive environments.
“With the launch of CCL we’ve responded to market demand for a compact, lightweight system to address sound control challenges across a broader spectrum of applications. Winning this award further manifests the industry-wide recognition of the benefits of our cardioid technology innovations.” – d&b audiotechnik
Conversations and Learning Opportunities
Beyond the exhibition floor, the free seminar programme proved popular. Talks covered a wide range of topics, including:
- Theatre sound technologies
- Health and safety best practices
- Sustainability strategies for venues
These sessions sparked great conversations and left attendees with practical takeaways and plenty to reflect on.
