We send our warmest wishes to Bryan Robinson HonFInstSCVE, who celebrated his 90th birthday in late September with family and close friends at a local Indian restaurant.

Bryan’s career in audio began in 1957, and he founded Robbotronic Co. in 1972. His work has taken him into council chambers, churches, cathedrals, theatres and conference centres, and he has been involved in assistive listening systems for people with hearing loss since 1976.

His association with the Institute stretches back more than 50 years, having joined APAE, one of ISCVE’s predecessors, in 1974. A former President of ISCE and a longstanding Board Director, Bryan became a Fellow in 2006, an Honorary Fellow in 2013 and a lifetime member in 2022.

Always willing to lend a hand without seeking the limelight, Bryan has supported many committees over the years and still serves on the Membership Committee. From setting up and packing away at ISCVEx to covering the ISCVE stand at PLASA, his practical help and friendship have been appreciated.

A strong advocate for younger people and women in the industry, Bryan is also a valued source of support to colleagues. Away from ISCVE, he particularly enjoys setting up audio for local Big Band performances, socialising with friends and spending time with his family.

Happy 90th birthday, Bryan and thank you for your many years of support and friendship.
