CIE has added to its growing collection of industry accolades, this time picking-up the Best Security Solution at the Smart Building Awards 2021 for its highly innovative Akuvox R29 Smart IP Door Intercom.
The Smart Building Awards, recognises the best in the UK residential AV & smart home industry and were held in Farnborough in September in front of the industry’s leading integrators, distributors and manufacturers.
Akuvox is the latest brand to be added to the CIE product range and is one of the leading global brands for IP intercoms, access control and telephony equipment.
The Akuvox R29C is a smart IP intercom device controlled via its full colour 7″ capacitive touchscreen. The huge range of identification features are what makes the R29C/R29CB one of the most innovitative IP Intercom devices yet. Features include: pin code access, concierge call button, multi-frequency RFID card reader and digital touchscreen phone book.
Secure infrared face recognition identification
The inclusion of secure infrared face recognition identification and QR Code access scanning is what really sets the Akuvox R29C Smart Intercom apart.
Just like the technology used in the latest-generation smart phones, the R29C/R29CB Smart IP Intercom is the very first door entry unit on the market to utilise this technology feature.
The facial recognition feature is hands-free, supporting a COVID-secure contactless pathway through a building. Simply by walking up to the 120 degree camera triggers the recognition (or not if you are a complete stranger).
QR Code scanning for temporary access permissions
The RC29C also features QR code recognition, perfect for temporary delivery access or service engineer access, simply showing a pre-approved QR code to the intercom camera to allow users instant access to the building within chosen time periods.
