Professional Sound Consultancy is a specialist voice alarm company with customers throughout the UK. Due to continued growth we are in search of a Trainee Design Engineer to join our team.
This is an exciting role, working with a wide variety of customers in some famous and historic venues.
Overview:
Production of Quotations
- Liaising with customers/engineers to ascertain the project design requirements
- Interpretation of client’s specification and drawings
- Development of the design to meet standards/specification and subsequent equipment selection
- Acoustic design
- Production of detailed cost calculation documents
- Production of quotations, supporting documents and drawings
- Understanding and discussing commercial contracts
- Designing to the legislative standards
Sales Support
- Maintaining customer database
- Discussing submitted quotations with customers
- Supporting sales team with negotiations
- Visiting site to carry out design surveys
Technical Support
- Production of operation and maintenance manuals
- Compilation of design material following order placement and formal handover to project team
Skills Required:
- Good communication skills, ability to work as part of a team
- Good organisational skills
- Problem solving and attention to detail are extremely important in this role
- Working toward a full driving licence would be desirable
Qualifications Required:
- BTEC/HNC Electronics desirable as will be integral part of understanding
- Excellent ICT skills
- Membership of ISCVE an advantage
